Dhaka: After about a week, the heatwave stopped. At the same time, the tendency of rainfall is increasing.

The Meteorological Department said in a forecast on Saturday (April 18th) that next Sunday (April 18th) there is a hint of rain with gusty winds in all departments.

At present, most of the western light pressure is located in West Bengal and adjoining areas. The normal light pressure of the season is in the South Bay.

In this situation, next Sunday in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, and Sylhet divisions, one or two places may experience temporary gusts/winds and rain/thunderstorms. However, daytime temperatures (1-2 degrees Celsius) are likely to rise across the country and nighttime temperatures may remain almost unchanged. At this time, the wind speed from south-west/south direction in Dhaka will be 8 to 15 kilometers per hour, which can be temporarily increased to 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.

By next Monday (April 19) the weather may change slightly. However, at the beginning of the extended five days, there will be rain / thunderstorms.

In the current season, the heatwave has flowed over the country in three phases. The maximum temperature rose to 39.6 degrees Celsius. Rainfall has increased since last Friday (April 18). It rained heavily in different parts of the country tonight.

The highest rainfall recorded in the country in the last 24 hours from 6 pm on Saturday (April 17) was 37 mm in Sylhet. The rainfall recorded in Dhaka is 24 mm. The highest temperature recorded in the country was 35.9 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi.
