Sinofarm:
The World Health Organization has given emergency approval to the Chinese-made

The World Health Organization (WHO) has approved the vaccine
of Sinoform, a Chinese state-owned company, on an emergency basis.
It is the first vaccine invented by a country outside the
West to be approved by the World Health Organization.
Millions of people in China and other countries have already
been vaccinated.
So far, the World Health Organization has only approved
Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, and Morgana vaccines.
However, the poorest countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin
America, in particular, has already approved Chinese vaccines for use on an
emergency basis.
At first, there was a lack of certainty about the
effectiveness of Chinese vaccines as China released very little information
about their covid vaccines internationally.
But the World Health Organization said on Friday that it had
approved it after verifying the "safety, efficacy and quality" of the
informed vaccine. The vaccine was developed by the Beijing Institute of
Biological Products.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says that with the
addition of information to the list of other approved vaccines, "countries
that want to get vaccinated against Covid-19 to protect health workers and
at-risk populations have the potential to accelerate the vaccine program."
The agency recommends two doses of the vaccine for people 18
and older.
Another Chinese-made covid vaccine, Sinovac, is expected to
be approved in the next few days.
However, the Russian-made 'Sputnik V' vaccine is still under evaluation.
Why is
World Health Organization support important?
Tedros Adhanam Ghebreyesus, director-general of the World
Health Organization said the move would give "confidence in the
countries' own regulators to expedite their approval process at the national
level."
Another positive aspect of this is that this vaccine can now
be included in the global Kovacs program. The project was launched last year to
ensure that rich and poor countries are not discriminated against in accessing
vaccines.
The decision to approve the Chinese vaccine on an emergency
basis is expected to further consolidate the Kovacs project. The project was
struggling to deliver vaccines.
The inform vaccine was widely used before it was approved
by the World Health Organization. It is estimated that 65 million doses of
informed vaccine have already been given to humans.
Apart from China, other countries that have used the vaccine
include the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, and Hungary.
The World Health Organization's technical advisory team
decided on Friday to approve Sinofarm for emergency use. They make this
decision by analyzing the clinical data of this vaccine and the methodological
details of its preparation.
They found the vaccine to be 79% effective in preventing the
symptoms of covid-19 and hospitalization.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says it has noticed that
clinical trials have included only a handful of adults over the age of 60.
However, they said they did not find any reason why the vaccine would not be
equally effective in older people.
The World Health Organization will now decide on another
Chinese vaccine, Synovac. Experts from the agency said on Friday they were
waiting for some additional information before giving their views on the
vaccine.
Millions of doses of the vaccine have already been sent to
several countries that have allowed the use of the vaccine on an emergency
basis.
What is the specialty of Chinese tickers?
A major feature of the Chinese vaccine is that it can be
stored in a refrigerator at a temperature of 2-6 cal
C - similar to the AstraZeneca
vaccine.
The World Health Organization says the informed vaccine
"will be very suitable for countries that lack resources" because of
this "storage facility".
The two vaccines in China work very differently from the
Covid vaccines that are currently being used, especially the Pfizer and Modern
vaccines.
The Chinese vaccine is based on traditional vaccines. Where
vaccines are made by inactivating germs. This involves injecting a vaccine into
the body using the dead part of the virus so that the body's immune system can
recognize the virus. When germs enter the body, the immune system becomes
active and can prevent serious infections.
